Fitting - the 9 steps to getting a perfect ComFlexin fit
1.
When you receive back the ComFlexin™ check on the model for the path of insertion and locate clasps.
2.
When fitting the ComFlexin™ for the first time, submerge in hot (not Boiling) water for 3 - 5 minutes. This will make it slightly more flexible, as the first fitting will be tight.
3.
Leave to cool until it becomes a bearable temperature for the patient's mouth.
4.
Place the ComFlexin™ in the patient’s mouth and ease in to the fitting position.
5.
First get patient to feel for any sore or tight points around the ComFlexin™ and especially the clasps.
6.
If a clasp is too tight/loose, remove the ComFlexin™ and adjust by removing material.
7.
If the ComFlexin™ is creating any sore points, use a ‘Green barrel bur’ and in a swift to and fro motion, without stopping, remove the high point on the ComFlexin™. Should any fibres arise, remove with a sharp scalpel blade. Do not attempt to remove with a bur.
8.
When the patient is happy with the fit of the denture, get the patient to bite down making sure that the ComFlexin™ teeth are not too high. If so, adjust in the usual way.
9.
When the patient is happy with the fit and feel of their new ComFlexin™, please discuss with them the "Care Guide for your ComFlexin™".
